A fastback fiberglass two seat sportscar which had
a variety of power plants over the years
Grantura
1958-1967
The Grantura used most commonly the 1.8 liter B series as in the MGB.
About 700 produced.
Griffith
1963-1967 This
one had a 289 ford engine stuffed in and the results were excellent performance
but suffered an overheating problem. 300 produced.
Tuscan
1967-1971 A very
rare TVR only about 175 produced. Some were V8, about 100 were powered
by a V6 3.0 liter English Ford.
2500M
1972-1977 Replaced
the Tuscan. Came to the US market with a Triumph TR 6 powerplant. The
European market kept the 3.0 liter V6. This is probably the best of the
series. Because of the Triumph engine, parts are available. A TVR does
not get the usual body rust that other cars get. They are rare and look
great.
