541
1954-1959 production of 225 units--outstanding fiberglass body, the finish
has rarely been equaled. The car had an Austin engine and servo assisted
brakes. Late in 1956 disc brakes on all 4 wheels.
541R
1957-1960 production of 200 units--twin carb version of the Austin engine,
along with rack and pinion steering. It was a well appointed and well
finished car.
541S
1961-1963 production of 108 units--this version was longer and wider,
with more room the previous versions. There were also more bells and whistles
including limited slip differential, heated rear window, and even seat
belts. (talk about luxury!) Hydramatic automatic transmission was an option.
 CV8
Mk I / II / III 1962-1963
/ 1964-1965 / 1965-1966 production of 10 / 250 / 141 units (respectively)
this was considered the ugly duckling cousin of the beautifully styled
541. A six liter Chrysler V8 and automatic transmission, only a few had
3 speed manual. The Mk I was good for speeds to 140mph with the Mk II
slightly quicker with a 6.3 liter. The Mk III had improved brakes.

 Interceptor
1967-1976 production of 5577 units (all types)--A hatchback body by Vignale
on the CV8 chassis. It was considered to be a gas guzzler. Versions of
the car improved over the course of production.
Jensen-Healey
1972-1976 production
of 10,926 units--A 0-60 time of 7.8 seconds was good but nothing remarkable.
The 2 liter Lotus engine became known for being troublesome. They were
also rust-prone and not highly thought of during their time.
